Serafino “Nino” Favero
March 14, 1939 – November 11, 2024
Passed away at Shalom Manor (Grimsby), on Monday, November 11, 2024. Beloved husband of Marguerite (Huneault) and loving father of David.
Nino was born in Montebelluna, Treviso to Luigia (Moschetta) and Archangelo Favero. He was the youngest of twelve. He is predeceased by his parents, all his siblings and his in-laws, Genevieve (Landriault) and Laurent Huneault.
Nino made life-long friends through his love to cycle, ski, soccer, tennis and bocce. He coached and managed the Hamilton Velo Club and different age groups at Saltfleet Go-Ahead Soccer. His beautiful voice was shared with the Hamilton Opera Choir and Sons and Daughters of Italy. Most of all, he enjoyed singing old Italian folk songs with his friends. Travelling, especially by car, was a fantastic joy and experience for him.
He leaves behind many nephews and nieces, plus grand and great-grand nephews and nieces on both sides of the family, here in Canada and Italy.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society , West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation or Shalom Manor . The care and dedication Nino received at WLMH and Shalom was much appreciated. The nurses, PSW and staff were professional, respectful and personally involved. Thank you!!
