George Guy Warby passed away with his family by his side at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. Age 81 years.
Beloved husband of Maureen (née Beagan) Warby, and a guiding, inspiring father to Meghan. Predeceased by his parents, Rheta and Allan Warby, he was a cherished son-in-law to Ted and Martha Beagan and an honorary brother to the Beagan boys: Kelly, John, Ward, Paul, Neil, and the late Ted. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and Maynard cousins.
Born and raised in Toronto and Scarborough, George was a teacher, neighbour and friend, whose generous spirit and warm smile brought joy to everyone around him. Though city-born, he had a small-town heart through and through — always quick with a laugh, a story, and a helping hand. A dedicated teacher and advocate for literacy, George shared his passion for learning with generations of students at Mactier, Humphrey, Nobel, and William Beatty public schools.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of George’s Life will be held at the Logan Funeral Home, 81 James Street, Parry Sound, on Sunday, November 17th, from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M.
Interment Hillcrest Cemetery Columbarium.
