Obituary For Wendy Hujdic (Waldroff)
January 16, 1954 – October 30, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Wendy Hujdic, a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of everyone she met.
Born on January 16, 1954, in Dauphin, Manitoba, Wendy enjoyed a happy childhood filled with adventures as her family moved around Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia. On April 18, 1975, Wendy married Arnie Hujdic, and together they made their home in Westlock, Alberta, raising four children: Ron, Kimberly (who passed away in infancy), Clint, and Stacey.
Throughout her life, Wendy lived in various communities across Alberta, eventually returning to her roots near her family farm by Wembley, Alberta. A woman of many passions, Wendy enjoyed the thrill of riding her Harley Davidson remodeling her family home, traveling to Hawaii and other parts of the world, and surrounding herself with family and friends. She had an infectious spirit and was loved by all who knew her.
Wendy worked as a school bus driver for many years, earned her GED as a mature student, and later became the backbone of the family business, Arnie’s Vacuum Service, as a bookkeeper and administrator. Later, she found joy and companionship working in the bakery at Walmart, where she made friendships that she cherished deeply.
Wendy loved camping in her RV, affectionately known as “Bertha,” and spent countless nights around the campfire, creating memories with her family and friends. She lived a life full of love, adventure, and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Wendy is survived by her children: Ron, Clint, Stacey (and son-in-law Kobe), and her granddaughter Madison. She also leaves behind her siblings Randy (Cathy), Marla, and Craig (Kim), along with numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Wendy’s cherished dachshunds, Lexi and Peanut, were dear to her heart and will continue to be a part of her family.
She was predeceased by her daughter Kimberly, her husband Arnie, her parents Fred and Fran Waldroff, and her beloved dachshund Emma.
In honor of Wendy’s memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue. As per her wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Please celebrate Wendy’s life in whatever way feels most meaningful to you.
Her warmth, laughter, and compassion will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
