Obituary
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn (Day) Loder on November 6, 2024 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL aged of 76 years after a fearless fight and brief battle with cancer.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was the foundation of her family and loved her life and her home she shared with her husband in Badger. She had a passion for animals and the outdoors. She was a traditional Newfoundland woman who devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren and whose primary responsibility was managing her household. She took pride in cleaning and cooking and was known for her Sunday dinners at 12 O’clock that brought her family home. Marilyn could be found on any given day at home or in her yard and enjoyed her Thursday night game of BINGO with her ladies.
Marilyn leaves to mourn her husband of 53 years, Gerald; daughters, Wanda (Ian) Beaton, Dianne (Jody) Russell, & Helen (Karl) Saunders; grandchildren, Cameron (Brooke), Hunter (Mikayla), Dakoda (Abby), Chandler (Heidi), Claire & Cole; great-granddaughter, Blayke; and her precious dog Zoey; siblings, Bill, Shirley (Garry), Hugh (Gina), Harvey (Florence), & Val; in-laws, Freeman (Ivy), Marie, Joan, Ruth, Albert & Derrick (Diane); and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Hugh and Madel Day; brother, Gerry; in-laws, Gordon and Elsie Loder; sister-in-law, Jean; brothers-in-law Clyde, Doug, Bruce and George.
The public visitation will take place Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM & 6-:00 PM – 8:00 PM from Faith Covenant Church, Badger, NL.
The Celebration of Life service will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Faith Covenant Church, Badger, NL.
The interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Badger NL.
