Golovchenko, Maria Josephine (Marianne)
Hello everyone:
I’m Marianne (Maria) Golovchenko Dec 3, 1959 ~ Nov 1, 2024
I am writing this in the final hours of my life. By the time you read these words I’ll be gone, but that’s okay. Please don’t be sad, because I had a great life. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in the oncology department, Orillia Ont, Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie Ont., at the Cancer Clinic and Bayshore Nurses Station, and Hospice Orillia. They provided me with wonderful care and kindness.
I am predeceased by my Dad Theodore Giesen, I am survived by my husband Alex Golovchenko, my mom Joanne Giesen, my brother and sister in law Henry and Yoriko, my beautiful nieces Amy, her husband Satoshi, and Julie Giessen of Japan. Survived by Berny Hart, and my nephews Michael, Corey and I hold dear to my heart in memory of Nicole who passed at the age of 32. I’m survived by my sister Tracey Giesen, her children Ashley, Andrew and their adorable son Matthew. Lucas and girlfriend Avery. My brother Frank and his wife Lisa Giesen, sister Chris and boyfriend Al Landry.
Also, my birth daughter Jessica her husband Steve, my grandchildren Lachlan, Harlan, Kayden, and Maevis.
I’d also like to give special thanks to my close friends Marie and George, Leona, Meaghan, Sheri and Donna. I dedicated my life to my career, my craft as a hairstylist, educator and managing director of Marvel Campus Orillia Ont. And educator in London Ont.
I lived my life on my terms and am leaving the same way, free of remorse, guilt or regret. During the years of my retirement, I learned how to sail, draw and paint in oils and acrylics. My proudest moments are held in the hearts and minds of all the students who have learned from me their careers in the hairstyling industry. They are truly my legacy.
If I have a tidbit of wisdom to offer it is this……Life is too short, let go of your grudges because you never know what is coming around the corner. Live with Love and passion. Take care of each other and like I’ve said. I’ve had a great life and don’t be sad.
It’s time for me to go, it’s not goodbye, but see you later. I will always be here in spirit.
There will be two celebrations of life held in my memory for friends and family to come together and share stories.
