It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Stefanich on Thursday, October 31st, 2024 at the age of 96. Loving son of Ukrainian parents Dimetro and Elena Stefanich. Loving father of Mark (Carmen), Mike (Paula), George Jr. (Monique), Joanne (Dale), Cathy (Raymond), Nancy (Dave) and Lynn. Predeceased by his brother Peter and sisters Mary and Ann. Proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Born in Timmins April 22, 1928, Timmins High & Vocational School class of 1946. Retired from Ontario Hydro in 1992 after 43 years of service.
Married to former Pierrette Armstrong for 35 years. He loved traveling, collecting coins and stamps, photography, loved listening to Ukrainian music, opera, watching baseball and hockey (Maple Leaf fan).
Visitation will take place Monday, November 4th from 1-3pm, at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall followed by a chapel service and at Lessard Funeral Home, 21 Elm Street South, Timmins on Thursday, November 7th from 9 am to 11 am followed by chapel service. Burial at Timmins Memorial Cemetery after service.
