Lloyd Joachim Peter, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Country Manor Nursing Home in Cambridge on Monday, October 28, 2024.
He was 98.
Born in Normanby Township on July 9, 1926 to the late Edward and Alvina (nee Ortman) Peter. Lloyd worked alongside his wife Georgia in Owen Sound operating the KFC Franchise. He enjoyed golfing in his younger years and always cheered for his favourite sports teams…the Toronto Maple Leafs!!
Loved father of Terry (Judy) Peter of Port Elgin, Darell (Ronda) Peter of Neustadt, Kim Peter (Patricia) of Hanover, Vicki (Don) Mullin of Rockwood and Sherry Rowland of London. Special grandfather of Jason, Niki, Jamie, Joshua, Samantha, Justin, Devon, Jackie, Steven, Brittany, Brady, Sydney and several great grandchildren. Dear brother of Dorothy (Gerard) Becker of Guelph. Remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Georgia (nee Banks) Peter, son Brett, brothers Bill and Wilfred and his sister Velma Peter.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 9:30 am until time of a Memorial Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. Inurnment to follow in Hanover Cemetery. There will also be a time of celebration following the inurnment at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Auditorium to gather and share memories amongst family and friends. All are welcome.
Special thanks to all the staff at Cambridge Country Manor for their wonderful care of Dad. The kindness, compassion and respect you showed him will never be forgotten.
