Daisy Louis
May 19, 1926 — October 27, 2024
We are saddened to announce that Daisy Louis passed away on October 27, 2024, from pneumonia. She was 98 years old. She is survived by her three children, Larry (Patti) Louis, Joni (Neil) MacKay and Sherri Louis (Steve); grandchildren; Cindy MacKay (Jeremy), Julia and Scott MacKay, Blaine Louis and Larrisa (Lance) Antonenko and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Chew Louis in 1989.
Daisy spent most of her life in Regina raising a family. She was an excellent cook and also enjoyed following trends in fashion. She began working in a high-end women’s clothing store while in her 50’s and continued working until she was 72 years old. She moved to Saskatoon in her 80’s as she could no longer drive due to vision loss from macular degeneration. She continued to be active and attended the First Step Program at the Field House until she was 90 years old. She enjoyed many adventures and good times with neighbour and friend, Darwin Wagner. She especially loved the two trips to Mexico with Darwin.
When Daisy was in her 90’s, she was diagnosed with vascular dementia. She still enjoyed visiting with Darwin at Stensrud Lodge and travelling to her daughter Joni’s house for Sunday dinners.
There will be a Celebration of Daisy’s Life on Sunday, November 10, 2024, starting at 2pm. If you are interested in attending email jonimackay@shaw.ca for further details. Condolences for the family may be left at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com
