With great sadness we announce the passing of Filomena Mota at Juravinski Hospital on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of John Mota for over 53 years. Loving mother of John Mota and Andrea Mota (Frank Ferraro). Adoring grandmother to Diamantina, Luca and Adrian. Will be sadly missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many other family and friends whose lives she greatly enriched. Filomena enjoyed spending time with her family, and travelling was a great passion of hers. She will also be remembered for her love of teaching the Portuguese language. Special thank you to all the doctors, palliative team, and nursing staff at Juravinski Hospital, for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Tuesday, October 29th from 2-4p.m. and 5-8p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Parish on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 10a.m., with entombment to follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Stoney Creek. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
