It is with great sadness and sorrow that Joy F Webb of Gander Newfoundland has passed away at the age of 78, early Tuesday morning February-28-2023 after a long battle with a variety of various medical problems .
She is survived by her partner Steve Russell, her brother Bud and her heart broken son Kyle in Ottawa.
Joy is a descendant of Indian Islands who then moved with her parents to Lewisporte Newfoundland. She began to search for work and moved to Gander in the early days as a telephone operator. Joy’s sense of humour and honest and caring way of approaching life was one her many assets that always brought a smile to all she met. She was first in line to open her doors to the stranded passengers during 9/11 Terrorist attacks in the US . These stranded people have stated that they had never seen such kindness from people before. Although she lived many miles from her Son in Ottawa she never failed to call regularly every day to see how he was doing. It is difficult to believe that we will never hear her voice again.
God bless Kyle and William Webb
Arrangements entrusted through Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander – Carmanville.
