Laura Marlene McLear Obituary
Laura Marlene McLear passed away peacefully in the morning of Oct 22, 2024, at Stevenson Memorial Hospital. Wife of James Fredrick Keith McLear (deceased Feb 2, 2013) and survived by her son Mark McLear, daughters Michelle Randall (husband Dave Randall) and Blaire Hadwen (husband Laurie Hadwen). Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Dale Hadwen (wife Sarah Hadwen), Dan Hadwen, Aaron Randall (wife Jill Randall) and Laura Randall. She has 2 special great grandchildren, Noah and James.
Marlene and her husband Keith owned and operated McLear’s Service Station “The Wee Store” for 22 years on Hwy 89. Marlene and Keith retired to Alliston and spent their winters in Florida. She enjoyed her last few years at Kingsmere Retirement Home and made many friends.
Marlene was an excellent golfer and won many championships at Borden Golf Club. She was very involved in her district for the Ontario Ladies Golf Associations. She loved sports, football, baseball, hockey and golf. She watched it all. Her favourite was US College football and her beloved Florida State Seminoles! Her love was not all sports as she also loved her quilting and knitting. Her family has many special treasures from these hobbies.
Family was important to Marlene, and she was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Visitation and Funeral will be held at John Thomas Funeral Home in Alliston
Visitation – Tuesday Oct 29, 2024, from 6pm to 8pm.
Funeral – Wednesday Oct 30, 2024, at 11am followed by lunch and internment.
