Stephen Flynn Obituary
Stephen “Stevie” Flynn
June 10th 1972 – October 18th 2024
It is with broken hearts that we have to say farewell to one of the kindest and coolest souls on earth. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Steve Flynn aged 52 passed peacefully away at home in the presence of his loving partner and precious mother.
Predeceased by his father Gary White; Grandparents Joan Flynn and Bob Squires; And Grandparents Ray and Leah White.
Left with endless memories and forever loved his beautiful soulmate Mary George; Bonus children whom he adored Jonah and Makayla; Fur babies and best buddies Jake and Gracie; His pride and joys Dylan and Zachary; Loving mother and stepdad Yvonne and Jim Gibbons; Two beautiful sisters Angela (Jason) Briffett and Krista Flynn (Chad); Nephew Brady Flynn; Nieces Eliana and Lily Briffett; Parents in law Charles and Mary George; Sisters and Brother in law Madonna (Bill), Sandra (CJ), Lori-Anne (Rodney), Eddie (Lisa) and their children; And a large circle of family and friends.
Steve was a lover of life and loved to spend time with friends and family. Steve enjoyed the outdoors walking the trails with his dogs. He loved kayaking, fishing and swimming in the summer, and spending evenings having backyard fires. Steve will be remembered fondly by his jamming buddies throughout the years – you know who you are! He was a very passionate drummer who could play along to any song. He enjoyed a game of darts and cribbage on the weekends while listening to K-Rock with his “beautiful babe” as he would call her. Steve was a huge Boston Bruins fan and never missed a game – Go Bruins Go!
We must not forget his wonderful coworkers and friends at Atlantic Cultivation who supported him throughout his journey. He always spoke highly of everyone. We appreciate everything you have done for Steve.
A special thank you to Dr. Ahmad and the staff at The Cancer Clinic; Dr. Glen Fallows; Dr. Robyn Wade; Nurses at The Coverdale Clinic; Community Health Nurses Trina, Tina and Simone – you ladies are the best. Thank you to all other healthcare providers who have helped Steve during his journey.
At Steve’s request, cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 4-9pm at Barrett’s Funeral Home on Hamilton Avenue.
Funeral service will take place on Sunday, October 27th 2pm at Barrett’s Funeral Home in the chapel on Hamilton Avenue. A Celebration of Life will take place following the service. More details will be posted at the funeral home. Burial arrangements will be made at a later date.
