It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jean-Pierre “Dino” Poapst on Tuesday October 8th, 2024 at the age of 73. He was a loving, caring and such a devoted husband of nearly 50 years to his wife Francine (Boudreault). Dino loved raising his children. He was a great Dad, attentive and a strong support to daughter Heidi (Greg Walton) and son Érik (Sheilagh Dalziel). A very happy and proud Grand-Papa to Aiden, Jérémy & Baby Isaac (Walton) and to Théodore and Oliver (Poapst). Predeceased by his parents Weldon Poapst and Patricia Pauzé, his brother Robert Poapst and his sister-in-law Jocelyne Dupont. Dino will be missed by his brother Brian Poapst and his sister Anne-Marie Lalonde, his sisters-in-law Francine N. Poapst, Pierrette Pinna, Madeleine Hill, Karmen Boudreault and Carole Boudreault as well as his brothers-in-law Jean-François Boudreault, Roger Lalonde, Jean Dupont and Patrick Murphy and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dear friend to Chris Walton and all his guitar buddies. Special thanks to Dr. S. Wijay and staff at the Montfort Hospital.
Dino was a Letter Carrier for 35 years with Canada Post. An accomplished guitar player and an avid outdoors man! He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones at home or at the cottage in Ferguson Falls! He was an honest and devoted man, always ready to help others. We will miss his great sense of humour, his stories, warmlaugh, his words of advice, tender hugs and his love of life.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1pm at Sainte-Marie Catholic Church, 4831 Innes Rd, Orléans.
