Obituary For Terry Robert Dutchak
October 29, 1947 – September 16, 2024
It was with heavy hearts we have had to say good-bye to our husband and father.
Terry was born in Canora, Saskatchewan to Mary and John Dutchak. His younger years were spent in the Canora and Yorkton area until he moved to Regina in 1967 with his fiancé Sharon Dolton. They were married on June 1, 1968 and shortly thereafter moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan where they remained for five years. In 1973 they came to Grande Cache, Alberta where they settled and raised their family. Once settled they knew this was where they would spend the rest of their lives.
Terry worked for Mannix for a short time before moving over to McIntyre Mines/Smokey River Coal where he remained until 2000. After a short time working for Kemess Mines in B.C. and then back in Grande Cache for E & L Trucking he decided to retire. In retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending the garden and greenhouse. Terry loved Grande Cache and its surrounding area.
Terry was predeceased by his daughter Jenaya (Vernon) in 2012, his parents John and Mary, his sister Jean Care and brother-in-law Cal, his brother Jim Dutchak and sister-in-law Mary Ann, his brother-in law Peter Cymbalisty and his brother-in-law James (Jim) Dolton, as well as nieces and nephews: Mark Dolton, Melanie Dolton, Nicole Dolton.
Terry and Sharon raised their two daughters Jenaya and Teleea in a town where “it takes a village to raise a child” was the norm and nature was a big part of their lives. In his own words, “I have lived a good life.”
Terry will forever be a part of the lives of his wife, Sharon and his daughter, Teleea (Dan), his sister Vikki Cymbalisty, sisters-in-law Marguerite Haugen (Harold), Lorraine Dolton Bon Dolton (Jim), brothers-in-law Gerald Dolton (Linda), Lorne Dolton (Gloria), Don Dolton (Wendy), many beloved nieces and nephews as well as their many friends.
