Liborio Intile Obituary
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Liborio Intile in Penticton, British Columbia, surrounded by his loving family.
Liborio was born in Enna, Silicy. At the age of 19, he left Sicily to come to Canada before returning to Enna where he met his wife, Giuseppa. They immigrated to North Vancouver to start a new life together and he initially worked at the Sawmill. Throughout his life, he did many types of work and later joined the International Labourers’ Union Local 1611. Liborio relocated his family to Penticton and acquired Cherry Park campground, which they successfully ran for many years. Besides raising his family, building his home stands as one of his proudest achievements, reflecting his hard work and dedication. He loved spending time and being surrounded by his family and made friends wherever he went. He had a passion for travelling and having new adventures. His laughter and smiles will be greatly missed.
He is predeceased by his son, Marco Intile; his sisters, Anna Scillia, Teresa di’Nicolo, Tanina Milano; as well as his brothers, Filippo Intile, Paulo Intile, and Carmelo Intile.
He is survived by his wife, Giuseppa Intile, of 64 years; his sons, Sergio Intile and Romeo Intile (Leta); along with his grandchildren, Shelby (Lane), Kelly, Cody, Brandon, Breanne (Scott), and Brayden, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses (Wanda) and staff of Penticton Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 am, at St. Ann’s, 1296 Main Street, Penticton. An Entombment will follow at 12:30 pm, at Lakeview Cemetery, 775 Lower Bench Road, Penticton.
