Gaye passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in her 88th year. She was surrounded by her loving husband, George, and her devoted family. Gaye was predeceased by her brother, Bliss Tracy. She will be missed by her niece and nephew, Michelle and Johnathan. Gaye was the proud mother of Michael (Diane), Scott (Andrea), and Karen. She was also an incredibly proud and loving grandmother to Katherine, Daniel, Emilie, Adam, Alison, Liam, and Alexandra. The Tracy and McGuire families treasure many precious memories over the years.
Gaye was born in Tracy, NB. Her passion was playing the piano and participating in many competitions throughout New Brunswick. She began her teaching career in McAdam, teaching George’s younger siblings. Gaye went on to teach in Fredericton and Saint John, New Brunswick, and Magog, Quebec. She married George in 1960 and moved to London. Gaye will be remembered for 30 dedicated years of teaching with the London Catholic District School Board. Gaye was patient, kind, and gentle to all. You never heard her complain, and she was always there to listen and encourage the pursuit of dreams. Her quiet yet determined nature was a source of strength and unity for her family.
Visitors will be received at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Divine Catholic Church, 390 Baseline Road West, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club, 465 Sunningdale Road West. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Gaye are asked to consider Arthritis Research Canada (ARC).
