On Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Riverview Gardens, David Harris, loving husband and stepfather passed away peacefully at the age of 61. David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Liz Stewart, his step-son Robert Kruchio, and his sister Debbie Hiscott of Holland Landing.
David was born on January 7, 1962 in Woodstock, Ontario to Bernard and Maime Harris. He attended McLaughlin High School and Clemson University, where he started and continued his football career. He followed this by playing for the Toronto Argonauts professionally. After 15 years at the Oshawa General Hospital, David worked for Canadian Tire, at the store and at corporate level. In 2008 he and Liz moved north to run a store for the North West Company in Churchill, Manitoba and Waskaganish, Quebec. David loved Nascar, the Boston Bruins, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his loving wife Liz. At 6’6”, David was her gentle mountain.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program, which helps kids access sports and play, can be made in his honour at www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca.
