Huber, Peter John
March 1966 – September 2024, aged 58 years
Born in Toronto, Peter lived much of his life in Richmond Hill or at the cottage near Kinmount, Ontario. The cottage was a beloved place that he had known since birth, and it is where he died.
Peter leaves behind his three sons; Simon, Jacob and Nathaniel, and his father; Seigi, all wishing there had been more years for him and with him. His mother, Linda, died on May 13th, 1987. Over the last few years, Peter enjoyed the company of many friends and family members through frequent phone calls and these will be sorely missed.
As a young teen, Peter spent one summer teaching himself machine code instead of swimming in the lake. Knowing this, it is not surprising that he spent his working life in IT after graduating from York University in Computer Science. In his private life he thoroughly enjoyed computer games, fantasy fiction and games and, of course, science fiction. Many is the time he asked Scotty to beam him up. Favourite Star Trek episode? The Trouble with Tribbles.
Peter could make you laugh in almost any situation, including when he hosted his legendary pig roasts up at the cottage. His humour and his hospitality were gifts he shared with us all.
Friends, please join us to celebrate his life at MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME in Richmond Hill, on Sunday October 27, 2024 with an hour of visitation starting at 10:30 am, followed by a service in the chapel at 11:30 am. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
