Frederick Maxwell Belbin
May 19, 1940 – October 6, 2024
Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease Frederick M. Belbin of Conception Bay South (Foxtrap) aged 84 years.
Predeceased by his son, David (2007), parents Arthur and Lilly, siblings Arthur, David (Margaret), Edwin (Barbara), Joan (James) and Robert. Also Brothers-in-law Dermont Driscoll and Robert McEwan. Fred leaves to mourn his loving wife of 53 years Joyce (Driscoll) and daughter, Erin (Adam Ashley) along with two granddaughters, Samantha Ducey (Robert) and Alanna Upshall (Lukas Quilty), great-grandchildren Julia, Benjamin and Maxwell Ducey as well as Sisters-in-Law Effie McEwan, Patsy Belbin and Pearl Driscoll and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Born in New Chelsea, Trinity Bay, Fred spent his early years as a teacher in outport Newfoundland following which his interest in foreign cars led him to VW dealer Palmer’s Garage. Fred spent the majority of his work life at ASKA Sales and upon their closure he chose to go into business for himself retiring in 2017 after 25 Years. He was a dedicated member of the Conception Bay South Lions Club for over 20 years.

Visitation at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, CBS on Monday, October 7th, 2024 from 3-7PM. Funeral service to be held at Hickey’s Chapel on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at 11AM with interment to follow at All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road.
Given Fred’s love of animals and music Memorial Donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or Radio Station VOWR.
