It is with profound sadness that the family of Fred Postma of Chatham, announce his passing on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance at the age of 89 years. Cherished son of the late Richard and Hinke Postma. Beloved husband of Alice (DeVries). Loving father of Gertie Boven and her husband Harrold of Emo, Rick Postma and his wife Lil of Chatham, Dave Postma and his wife Arlene of Tilbury, Cindy Overland and her husband Doyle of London and Al Postma and his wife Keri of Waterloo. Much beloved Grandpa of Alicia (Mark), Josh, Nicole, Trevor (Nicole), Spencer (Jessica), Mitchell (Brittany), Sarah (Matt), Lauren (Caleb), Maddison (Dillon), Riley (Olivia), Nathan (Mariah) and Jessica and Great Grandpa of Alec. Dear brother of Irene Veldboom, John (Pauline), Hank (Susie), Andy (Jenny), Richard (Marlene) and Mike and brother-in-law of Sena, Margaret, Ann, Gertie, Charlie (Jenny), Christine, Joanne, Janet (John). Predeceased by his grandchildren Alison and Matthew and sisters Margaret Hoekstra, Alie Postma, Grace Kloostra (Dick) and brothers Mark Postma and Dickie Postma and brothers and sisters in law Bernie, Andrew, Andy, Frans, Frances, Wilma, Elsie, Frank, Elco, Arnold, Bill and Harry. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Tuesday March 7th, 2023, with visiting from 2 to 4 pm. and Wednesday March 8th with visiting at First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave. East, Chatham from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Nate Van Denend officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. In lieu of flowers friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider the Chatham Christian School or World Renew Canada.
