HELMUTH: Gloria Jean (nee Rieder) – 75 of Stratford and formerly of Port Elgin passed away peacefully with family by her side in London on Monday, October 1, 2024.
She was born in Stratford on September 22, 1949 daughter of the late Jean (Malcho) and Charlie Rieder.
Gloria had worked for Zehrs and Your Independent Grocer in Port Elgin before retiring. She moved to Tavistock in 2015 and then Stratford in 2023.
Loving wife of the late Larry Helmuth who predeceased her October 30, 2020. Survived by her three children, Tim Helmuth (Erin Fenton), Lori Hamer (Adam), Dan Helmuth (Michele Showering); two grandsons, Nathan and Zakary Hamer, brothers-in-law Bill Helmuth (Carol), Joe Helmuth (Sandy), Brian Helmuth and four nieces, three nephews, four great nieces, and three great nephews.
She was predeceased by brother Dave “Charlie” Rieder, sister-in-law Karen Cutway and brother-in-law Jim Helmuth.
Family and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home for memorial visitation on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:30am until 12:30 pm. A private family service will take place in the funeral home chapel.
