Karl passed away with his loving family by his side at the Ottawa Civic Hospital on September 28. Karl, 65, was a beloved husband and best friend of Grace for 41 years. Loving father of Ryan (Deanna) and Janessa Mann (Nic Cober). Special Opa to his four grandchildren. Dear son of Marianne and the late Leonard Mann; brother of Ian (Angela), Arthur (Phyllis), and Judie Mann; son-in-law to Alice and the late John Dueck; brother-in-law to Ruth Wiens (Bob) and Doug Dueck (Diana). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Karl loved the challenges of his work at Ericsson and will be missed by his colleagues. He also loved playing guitar and singing, motorcycling, cycling, hiking, skiing, kayaking, photography, reading, woodworking and travelling.
A celebration of life will be held at Ottawa Mennonite Church at 1830 Kilborn Avenue, on Saturday, October 5 at 10:30 am. The service will be streamed.
Special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital staff for the care shown to Karl after his accident.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Share the Road Cycling Coalition or Mennonite Central Committee are gratefully accepted.
