James Samuel Paynter Obituary
Paynter, James Samuel (Dick) – Peacefully on Monday September 23rd, 2024 at the Georgetown Hospital. Jim, in his 99th year, loved husband of the late Ruth Fife. Loved Father of Kevin Paynter and proud puppa of Kelly and her husband Josh Sweeting and their kids Arielle, Ryder and Travis. Adored uncle to Cathy (John) and special puppa to Laura (Christian) and their kids Quinn, Emmerich and Mackenzie and Samantha (Nick). Survived by his sisters Pearl Foster and Martha Graves and sister in law Dolores MacFarlane (Carl) brothers in law Brian Fife (Lauraine) and Malcolm Fife (Lynn). Predeceased by his Brothers Charles and Dean Paynter and sister Jean Ferris. Dick moved to Ontario from New Brunswick, where he and his family grew up, and started what would become a beautiful life. He will always be a true maritimer at heart. He was dedicated to his work at the Abitibi papermill, earning himself an award for missing only three days in his over 30 year tenure there. He learned to play golf and in time, could out drive the best of them. He never missed cheering on his loved ones from the sidelines of their sporting events and looked forward to a coffee at the mall with his best buddies. Jim was a loved friend to many. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905)877-3631 on Friday September 27th from 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel Saturday September 28th at 11:00 am. Reception to follow in Trafalgar Room following the service. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
