It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Harold William Lowndes, age 80 peacefully in Parry Sound.
Loving husband of Angie (nee Smallman) for 60 years. He will be sadly missed by his son David of Gravenhurst and granddaughters Jessica and Nicole both of Vancouver B.C. He is survived by brothers Gerry of Ayr ON. and Frank of Westlock AB.
Harold was an avid yachtsman who travelled the Bahamas, Florida and Georgian Bay for 40 years with Angie onboard their trawler “Halagain”. Harold was the first Captain of the Chippewa III when it came to Parry Sound and in 2003 joined the wheelhouse crew of the Island Queen until Covid in 2020.
As was Harolds wishes, cremation arrangements are entrusted to Torrance Funeral Home and there will be no service.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated.
