Gerald B. Ramsay Obituary
Gerald B. Ramsay, 92, of Moncton passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Newcastle, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Marie Claire (Robichaud) Ramsay. Prior to retirement, he was employed with the CNR as an electrician. While with CN, he served with the R.C.A.F., in both Canada and Europe. He returned to CN and eventually retired from the Railway.
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Matilda “Tillie” (Arsenault) Ramsay, daughter Charlene, cherished grandchildren Daniel (Taryn) and Erin (Brianne), great grandchildren Lucas, Logan and Matilda (“Tilly”); sisters Hazel Sutherland and Iona Leslie, both of Victoria, B.C., many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Aside from his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his siblings Norman, Ovilda, Byron, Rita, Mildred, Julia, Erving and Oland.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 22 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM from Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd. Moncton NB (506-858-1995). Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM from St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford St. Moncton. Reception will follow at the Church Hall.
