Barry Gagnon Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Barry Gagnon announce his sudden passing in Sudbury, Thursday Sept 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Barry will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Theresa Gagnon. Dear father of Chad (Carol), David (Lyndsay), Corrie (Jay). Loving grandfather of Charlie, George, Ella, Elise, Ruby, Cole, and Kailey. Dear brother of Don (Lee), Sue (Joe) and Brian (Monique) and the late Marc. Mother-In- Law June Leduc, Brother-In-Law to Alice and John Winicki, Rachel Pel, Pauline and Dan Brownlee, Raymond and Sylvie Leduc as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends. Barry was predeceased by his parents Gerry Gagnon and Anita Coutu.
Barry was passionate about his work as a painter at HSN for over 30 years. He loved painting but most of all he enjoyed being with all his co- workers and making lifelong friends. Barry’s biggest passion in life was music. An avid drummer and singer he spent countless hours perfecting his craft and loving every minute of it. Barry played in some really good local bands; Butler, King Street, Big Deal and All Nations Church band. A career spanning over 50 years! When Barry was not playing the drums he could be found at the local bowling alley with family, friends, and coaching kids; he was very proud of his perfect 5 pin game. Barry was an avid baseball player and enjoyed many rounds of golf with family and friends over the years.
The family would like to thank the Pioneer Manor staff for all of their time, energy, and effort that they devoted to making sure that Barry was comfortable and cared for throughout his illness.
A memorial service will be held at All Nations Church Friday November 1st at 3pm followed by a ROCKING Celebration of Life at the Caruso Club lower hall, from 5pm to 10pm.
Donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society Sudbury in honor of Barry.
