Darlene Jay Miller, affectionately known as Doll, left this earth on August 29th, 2024 at the young age of 67 years old, in the care of Langley Hospice. She was a strong fighter but ultimately lost her battle with ovarian and pancreatic cancer. Joining her lifetime love Toby, Lloyd George Vorra. Along with her parents, sister Cheryl Howe, brother Terry Miller, sister Debra Miller and niece Tracy Howe. Sadly leaving behind her nephews Scott Howe and Jayson Miller. As well a large group of family and friends whose lives she touched dearly.
She was brought into this world on April 7th 1957 in Vancouver, opening her eyes to see loving mother Georgetta Miller and father Patrick Miller. She lived a fun and enjoyable childhood, spending cherished time with lifelong friends from John Oliver Secondary school and Sunset park. She was known for getting “Dolled up”, which is where her nickname came from. Whether it was for a night out on the town or a simple day of shopping, she always looked stunning. Bringing this passion for fashion to her career in retail, making others look and feel their best with an unforgettable smile.
After rocking and rolling in the city for many years she ventured out to Langley, settling into the country lifestyle. Working at Cedarbrook Bakery for almost 20 years, she became a valued member of the Brookswood community. She loved hosting parties and no humans or paws ever left hungry. Her house and heart were always open to anybody needing to unwind around the fire. If not surrounded by friends and a buzzing atmosphere, she would unwind by gossiping and laughing on the phone with a splash in her tea.
Doll loved a deal, even if it cost her more to get there. Her best days in her golden years were spent getting dolled up to go thrift shopping and out for lunch, then spoiling her four legged friends with doggie bags.
Doll was not alone in the end and was at peace with family near for her journey to the other side. She will be dearly missed and thought of often. Let her be remembered as a caring, loving beautiful soul with an equally beautiful smile. Leaving memories that warm your heart and make you laugh.
Until we meet again. Love you
