With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear father, Gordon Fedorchuk, from Silver Manitoba. He peacefully passed away on August 28, 2024, at the age of 73, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Gordon leaves to mourn his three children: James, Lorrie, and Darryl. Son-in-law Shane Newton, daughter-in-law Monica Fedorchuk. Grandchildren Chantel, Jaedyn Newton, and Kaylin Boundy. His sister Ruth Blahey, brother-in-law David Wabick, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Sofie and John Fedorchuk, his sister, Christine Wabick, and brother-in-law David Blahey.
Gordon was born on October 31, 1950, in the charming town of Arborg, Manitoba. As he grew, his nurturing love for agriculture and passion for farming led him to Winnipeg, where he retired from MacDon Industries after 38 years. Gord was an avid hunter, a devoted sports dad, and a skilled mechanic. Living on the farm brought him joy as he tended to the land and the deer and reveled in the great outdoors.
Our family is profoundly thankful for the unwavering support and exceptional care provided by the dedicated team of home care workers, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and the entire staff at Gimli Hospital. Their tireless efforts and compassionate approach made a significant difference to our father’s comfort and well-being.
We wish to convey our deep and enduring appreciation to Deby Geisler, David Wabick, and Nancy Woychyshyn for their consistent and invaluable support. Additionally, we extend our gratitude to his friends for their unwavering presence and assistance when required.
As the sun sets and the moon rises, we come together to embrace the beauty of each passing day. Every morning, we walk together, navigating life’s journey. Times of loss remind us to cherish and celebrate the precious gift of life.
A celebration of life to honor Gordon will commence in Silver, Manitoba, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Silver Hall. Following the ceremony, there will be a solemn interment at the Silver Cemetery, followed by a luncheon.
