It is with sadness we announce the
peaceful passing of James “Jim”
Colfer, age 91, of Baie Verte, NB. Jim passed
away on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at the Briarlea Serenity Senior Living
Home in Moncton.
Born in Ireland, he was a son of the
late Michael and Margaret Colfer.
Jim and his family moved to Baie Verte
from England in 1981. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be
hunting, fishing, gardening, or cutting wood. He loved to
tease and enjoyed joking with family and friends.
He will be dearly missed by his wife
Maureen (Simpson) Colfer, Moncton; daughter Lynn (Terry) Wall, Moncton
and son Kevin (Lisa) Colfer, all of Moncton; grandchildren Riley,
Meghan, James, Lily, Christina and Kayla; brother Billy of
Ireland.
James (Jim)’s family would like to thank
the Briarlea staff for their exceptional care and compassion over the
last nine months.
Arrangements have been entrusted
to Jones Funeral Homes, Port Elgin and
Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300). Visiting hours will be held
at the Jones Funeral Home Port Elgin Chapel on Wednesday, January 4,
2023 from 1 until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by his funeral
service, William Drysdale, DLM, officiating. Burial will
take place in the Baie Verte Cemetery in the spring.
