Obituary for
Heather Milligan
Heather Carolee Milligan – Age 69, Masstown. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Heather on August 29, 2024. She was a treasured mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and great friend. Born in Londonderry on January 6, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Olive and Carroll Spencer.
Heather was the most lively, adventurous, direct, loyal, protective, and fierce person you could ever meet. There was no ignoring her presence as soon as she stepped into a room. Heather was an avid gardener, hiker, tennis player and adventure seeker. She always led an active lifestyle, always up for the next big thing, however, her drives with Elroy were her favorite thing to do. She loved socializing with her friends and her “Shore Road girls.” There was nothing she lived for more than her family, always there to lend a helping hand and never failing to show up when she was needed.
Heather is survived by daughters, Tammy Spencer (Wallie Pulley) and Sarah Milligan (Adam Boertjes); grandchildren, Kristen, Samuel, Caleb, Austin, and Hannah; her partner and “person,” Elroy Mackenzie and his children, Travis, Tamara and his grandchildren, Hope and Haven; her brother, Paul Spencer; brother-in-law, Kirk (Judy) Milligan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carter Milligan.
Donations in Heather’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA.
To ensure everyone who loved Heather can attend, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 2 – 5pm in The Peg in Masstown to celebrate the amazing person Heather was to everyone who knew her.
