Obituary of Alice Veronica Earle
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side in her 94th year at the Henley House in St. Catharines. She leaves behind her sister Joan and niece and nephew Bill (Christine) and Pauline in the UK. Alice was predeceased by her son Rick (2008) and her former spouse Norman (2019) and best friend Gay (2023).
She will be dearly missed by her children Pam (Peter), Robert (Kim) and Andrew (Robin).
Proud Grandma of Julie, David (Stephanie), Rachel, Emily, Allison and Ashley. Great Grandma to Lincoln, Lyla and Kayce.
Alice emigrated from England with her family to Quebec in 1966 and to St. Catharines in 1978. Alice was well known in the neighborhood walking her dog Coco and for her outstanding homemade meat pies and eccles cakes which she took great pride in sharing with her family and friends. Her love of garage sales kept her active for many wonderful years and managed to entertain her children and grandchildren as she enthusiastically searched out the next great treasure. Alice was a member of St. Giles church which was a constant source of joy and inspiration to her.
Special thanks to her good friends and neighbors Mr. and Mrs. David Hartwell, Karen Thompson and many others who supported her as she lived independently in her own home up to her 94th year. Also, thanks to long-time family Doctor Hyatt for his excellent care as well the many Doctors and Nurses at St. Catharines General hospital who took such great care of her this year and the staff at the Henley House in St. Catharines who cared for her during her short stay there.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME; 585 Carlton St. Cremation has taken place. The family welcomes friends for a time of gathering on Tuesday, September 3 2024 from 6-9pm followed by a celebration of Alice’s life at St. Giles Presbyterian Church 205 Linwell Rd. St. Catharines on Wednesday, September 4, at 1pm. Memorial donations may be made to St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Please share your condolences, photos and memories of Alice on the condolence page.
