Brien Daniel McLean, 68 years of age, passed away on August 27th, 2024 in his beloved happy place, Big Water Camp Ground.
Brien leaves behind his most prized possessions, his children, Carolle, Caissy (Ryan) and Matthieu along with his two granddaughters, Claire Bear and Madeline.
He is survived by his brother, Barry McLean and his sisters, Natalie McLean and Jane Menard. Predeceased by his mother, Giseline Gagnon and his father Leland McLean.
Brien had a love for camping that started when his daughters were three months old and blossomed into sitting under his gazebo cracking a cold one with his friends and son. He never understood his children’s fear for bugs and would always tell his kids when they would get startled over the tiniest insect “For god sakes, you were raised in the bush”. Brien had a talent for playing guitar and will forever be remembered by Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star by Merle Haggard.
We would like to thank Frank Laforge, Patrick Gervais, Marc Lachance, and Steph Roy for the wonderful friendships you have built with our dad and a special thank you to the four of them for being there with Dad during his last moments.
His children will forever remember those early morning dishes clinging as they tried to sleep. The wake-up call chants starting with “You got to get up, you got to get up, you got to get up in the morning” and the Marco, Polo shouts around the store as we searched for one another.
For those who knew Brien knew that at 8PM he would stop what he was doing to text his children and grandkids goodnight: “Good night girls, Carolle, Caissy, Madeline, Claire Bear and Matt love you very much ❤❤❤ xoxo lots”. His children will forever miss his “I love you Belle/Bud” hugs with the tightest squeeze and his honks goodbye as he left the driveway waving. We are forever grateful that Claire and Madeline’s Pépé will always be their guardian angel. Guide them well Dad, no funny business.
