Christopher Megginson Obituary
Chris was an incredible man, who overcame a lot of battles throughout his lifetime. He was the most gracious, kind hearted, loving guy you’d ever meet.
Chris lived his life to the fullest, especially during his early retirement years. If he wasn’t fishing, he was hunting. The time between was spent being a wonderful husband, step-dad, uncle, brother, son and friend.
He loved his job, as a railroader for the ONR. His work friends became family to him. He adapted the “on no rush” rule, and applied it to his daily life.
Chris was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, and fought so hard the past two and a half years. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends.
Loving him unconditionally, his wife of 12 years, Sarah Cosgrove and stepchildren Theo and Isabelle. Will be missed by his brother Curtis, sister Katelyn (Brad Chenette) mom Tammy, his nieces, and fur-baby Tess. Also by his in-laws and many friends.
Special thank you to Dr. Edie and staff, oncologists Dr. Malone, Dr. Pearce, and Dr. Lam. Your care throughout this has been wonderful and I can’t thank you all enough. Donations in Chris’ honour can be made to the Northeast Cancer Centre at Health Sciences North.
No service will be held, as per Chris’ request, but in his words;
“It is what it is. Come visit me in the bush or at a lake”
