With broken hearts our family announces the passing of Jackie Swindlehurst at the age of 61 years.
Her amazing smile and warm heart lit up every room she entered. Jackie will be forever missed by her husband Dave, daughters Lisa Swindlehurst-Pischke (Cyrus) and Sheila Swindlehurst (Garry), her mother Marilyn, sister Janet Morter, and brother Allan, along with relatives and so many friends.
Jackie was predeceased by her father John, and brother Jim.
Born in Edmonton, Jackie completed her BSc. in Pharmacy at the UofA. She practiced in Edmonton, Stony Plain and Spruce Grove before moving to Drayton Valley where she was a partner at Penny’s Pharmacy for many years. She was a compassionate advocate and caregiver for her patients. While not working Jackie could be found in her garden, at the family cabin at Pigeon Lake, or on the slopes at Marmot Basin in the winter with her ski patrol friends.
Many years were spent camping at the Shuswap Lakes with many friends and family.
She was always finding the joy in life and inspiring people to make the most of the time they have. She loved to dance and would make the most of it whether in classes or at parties. She always enjoyed a good joke and would share whenever she could.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm, at the Mackenzie Center in Drayton Valley.
The family would like to thank the healthcare professionals who supported her: Dr. Sharek, Drs. Wasilenko and Tarumi and their teams, Dr. Gigg, and the Drayton Valley Homecare team.
