Shirley Joyce Mac Leod (Clark)
April 24, 1935 – August 17, 2024
The family is profoundly sad to announce the passing of their beloved Mother and Grandmother Shirley Joyce Mac Leod on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Drayton Valley at the age of 89 years.
Shirley will be treasured and remembered by her daughter, Jean (Ted); her grandchildren, Jason and Shaley (Johnathon) and granddaughter Claire.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Clara and Ernest Clark and her siblings.
Shirley was a devoted grandma and mother, she loved hard, and the fixer of broken things. She loved to be in the company of people while listening to music at a jam session, going to a potluck, dancing the night away, playing darts, curling, or shuffle board. She had a collection of many relationships that she gathered close throughout her life. Shirley was never one to sit idle, she was always on the go. Shirley personified strength, perseverance, and compassion in tough times and loved others through their storms in life. Her absence will be missed by her family and the lives she encountered.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ayotte and the staff at the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre for their care and compassion shown to Shirley during her stay.
In lieu of flowers a donation made in Shirley’s name can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or the SPCA.
A service for Shirley will be held at a later date in Smith, Alberta
