It is with profound sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted Mom and Grandmother (Babcia), surrounded by love at SCGH on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, in her 77th year. Eva is survived by her only daughter, Patricia (Wes), and Granddaughter Noella. She will be dearly missed by her nephew Paul and great-niece, Eva in Poland. Eva is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Maria, her husband, Victor (1985) and her sisters Jadwiga, Sofie and brother Max. Eva had a vibrant personality; warm, charming, full of love, life, compassion, strength of character and integrity. She lived life with a full and open heart; kind, thoughtful, generous, and always putting family at the forefront of her heart, mind and actions.
Widowed young, Eva persevered and rose above any obstacle. She was an immensly proud Mom and Grandmother. A protector, believer, supporter. She lived her life always staying true to herself. Honest to a fault. She always gave from the heart, without expectation. A surgical nurse from Poland by profession; compassionate, attentive, Eva also had an entrepreneurial spirit and a head for business, bravely willing to take calculated risks. She demonstrated fierce independence, strong-mindedness, and realism.
Eva enjoyed living a relatively quiet, private life surrounded by those whom she loved and trusted, with family as her focus. She was filled with passion and devotion for her beloved Poodles and Yorkies. She enjoyed cooking and baking and the pleasures of good food, as well as an interest in gardening and health. Eva enjoyed travelling to Poland to visit family, as well as trips to Paris, Germany and Florida. She appreciated and enjoyed classical and latin music, reading, a proper tea time, and an occasional classic movie. Eva had a refined taste and appreciation for home decor and the finer things. She always had a way of adding that special touch to everything she did.
Eva adored and cherished every precious moment spent with her Granddaughter, Noella, who always brought her such joy…whether concocting something in the kitchen together, or playing with her Yorkies, to walks to the park, or impromptu shopping/treat outings.
Private, modest, exacting, humble, loyal, trusted; Eva was always engaged with life, curious and always growing and learning, she was an inspiration.
We will forever honour Eva’s legacy; the life she led and all the unique and loving ways she made our lives that much more special and meaningful.
Spiritual and of deep personal faith, Eva’s legacy is one of unyielding love and devotion to her family and faith. She was and will always remain in our hearts as a true model of boundless love, grace, compassion, kindness, class, character and integrity. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and dear friends. We are so proud we were able to call her ours.
We would like to thank the staff at 4A SCGH with special thanks to Dr. Sangha, Danielle, Derek, Lauren, Andrea and Andrea Lehal for their gentle, genuine and compassionate care.
As per Eva’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is being planned. Details will be updated here at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Passfield Mortuary Services.
