It is with great sadness that the family of Roland Reinhold Goertz announce his passing on August 13, 2024 at the age of 96 years.
Roland was born in Stony Plain, where he met and married his wife Rose. Together they ran a successful farm and had seven children. Roland and Rose found the love of travel. Visiting many countries around the world. In his senior years Roland was an avid gardener and bowler. Displaying his morning glory planter and taking home medals in league bowling championships.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Dennis (Beth) Goertz, Wayne Goertz, Robert (Joan) Goertz, Gary (Lisa) Goertz, Wendy (Barry) Mallard, Karen (Bruce) Bailie, and Brian (Kerry) Goertz. As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
Roland was predeceased by his loving wife of 72 years Rose Goertz (nee Bauer)
A Celebration of Life will be held celebrated on August 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Stony Plain United Church, 5012 51 Ave, Stony Plain, AB T7Z 1C2.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roland’s name may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
