James Wesley Cromar (“Jim”) passed away with family at his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday August 8th, 2024, in his 88th year. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Graham (Judy), daughter Heather (Alan), and his four grandchildren Timothy, Emily, Rebecca and Elliot. He was predeceased by his wife (Barb, nee Barjarow); infant son (Ronald), sister (Ruth), brother (Gary) and his parents (Hazel and Doug).
Jim proudly worked for Imperial Oil for over 35 years. He was a steadfast husband, father and grandfather and was always there for his family, attending his children’s music concerts and sporting events and making time to take them sledding and skating in the winter. He always enjoyed visits from his grandchildren at the cottage and loved to spoil them. A loyal Hamilton Tiger Cats fan, Jim enjoyed his solitude at the lake, watching sports, reading and doing crosswords to his heart’s delight. Thanks dad for being you, and for being there for us.
We invite you to visit with us at Mackey Funeral Home in Lindsay on Thursday, August 15th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a service of remembrance and light lunch at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we welcome you to donate in dad’s memory to the War Amps of Canada, the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation (PRHCF) or to a charity of your choice.
Thank-you to the staff of PRHC for their wonderful care and compassion over the last couple of weeks. It has meant a great deal to us.
