Darryl Charles Stanyer
1959 – 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darryl Stanyer, who left us on August 4, 2024 at the age of 64. Darryl was born on September 24, 1959 in Lacombe, Alberta to Ken and Irene Stanyer. He was the youngest of three children, with one brother Marv and one sister Linda.
Raised in Clive, Alberta Darryl attended local schools before completing his high school education in Lacombe. His passion for mechanics led him to further his education in the field, which set the stage for a fulfilling career. Darryl dedicated 27 years to Lacombe Fertilizer, where he not only delivered fertilizer but also maintained their trucks and equipment. His skills extended beyond this role as he also engaged in auto body work, painting numerous vehicles and equipment.
Darryl’s love for life was evident in his cherished time spent with family. He found joy in various outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hunting. Whether it was a game of horseshoes, bocce, bunnock, crib, or other card games, Darryl embraced these moments with enthusiasm and a warm spirit.
Darryl is survived by his wife Jan; children Chris (Damara Osborn) Stanyer, Travis Stanyer and Chelsey (Brook) Clancy; step grandchildren: Kameron Levesque, Autumn Osborn, Maryann Walsh and Aurora Clancy; sister Lynda (Lynn) Marshall as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
Darryl was predeceased by parents Ken and Irene Stanyer and brother Marv Stanyer.
Darryl’s memory will be held close in the hearts of those who shared in his life and the countless moments of joy he brought to them.

Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta.
Following the service please join the family for a time of sharing memories and a luncheon at Billy’s Back 40 (39027 Range Road 230, South of Hwy 11).
