It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dona Noreen Martin, age 69. Dona was a beloved family member and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Dona passed away with her family by her side at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
Dona Martin, beloved wife and best friend of Donald Martin for 44 years. Dear daughter of the late Gwyneth Mary and Walton Kemp Sharpe. Dear sister of Ken and wife Mary. Sister-in-law to Jeff (Dana), Julie (Randy), and Jennifer (Tom). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dona was actively involved in field trial retriever training and was a respected member of the Ottawa Retriever Club and Eastern Ontario Retriever Club. Dona made a lasting contribution to the National Retriever Club of Canada in roles as Secretary/Treasurer, Communications Officer, Webmaster, and was currently the NRCC Director for Ontario.
Dona will be remembered for her dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her passions. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.
A celebration of life will be held in Dona’s honor on Saturday, August 17 at 2 p.m. at 216 Carleys Corners Road, Merrickville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in her memory.
Dona, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
