FINN, GORDON “Skip” GERALD
March 3, 1943 to August 4, 2024
It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Uncle, Brother in-law. So many wonderful memories of him will live on. Born in St. Catharines, and preceded in death by his parents William and Agnes Finn. Brother to Clyde (Laurie) Finn and Marlene Finn.
At 18, he met the love of his life, Charlotte Finn, who has been by his side for 63 years. Proud father to Suzanne Finn (Jim Fisher) and Jennifer Finn (Samuel Preston). Loving Papa to Jordan and Jake Isenor (their father Brent Isenor). Loved by many nieces and nephews. Larry Finn, who recently passed was more of a brother than a nephew to Gordon.
As a young teen he worked the summers at a tobacco farm and others places Up North. He was hard working and determined to be a good provider for his family. He applied for good factory jobs until they got sick seeing him. Eventually he ended up getting hired by three places the same week. He chose General Motors where he continued to work until 2000.
He was honored to be part of Charlotte’s family, Herbert and Mary Moore. In-law’s Rosemary (Don) Rogers, Lawrence (Gail) Moore and Shirley (Len) Lanza. He loved the Moore’s good values, love and hard work at the farm in St. Anne’s. So many fond memories of the large gatherings. Not to mention his mother-in-law’s homemade cooking and baking every weekend.
In his younger years he enjoyed travelling with his family and had many trips visiting his sister Marlene in Mexico and Florida. He loved fishing and always had a great fishing story to tell. He always enjoyed golfing and even played this spring. At his request there will be a private family Celebration of Life to be announced. Arrangements have been entrusted to Passfield Mortuary Services Inc. St. Catharines.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
