The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Suzanne Mason (Belec) on Monday August 5, 2024 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 76. She lived a life of service, to both her family and the job she loved. She was a travel agent for many years at Uniglobe Tri-Pro Travel, and World Wide Travel Agency after Uniglobe closed its doors. She loved nothing more than booking her clients on trips and making sure they were well taken care of during the process. She was a single mother to her 2 children for many years, and loved being a grandmother to her 3 grandchildren. She loved spending time at the family cottage at Watabeag Lake during the summer and visiting many exotic locations with friends and family. She loved to get into a good book during her free time.
She is predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Noel Belec. She is survived by her sister Diane (Kevin), her brother Denis, her two children Claire (Domenic) and Matthew (Kiara). She is also survived by her three grandchildren Lino, Isabella and Robin. A special thank you from the family goes out to the wonderful staff in the Critical Care Unit and Medical C Floor of the Timmins and District Hospital, as well as her family doctor, Dr. Julie Samson, who went above and beyond caring for Suzanne for many years. Based on her love of animals, remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. She always had cats as pets and loved them like her family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday August 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. at LESSARD Funeral Home chapel, followed by an inurnment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 8, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. at LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated
