Frances passed away peacefully at home in Ottawa at 97. Now reunited with her beloved late husband Blumer (Boom) after 46 years.
Loving mother of Paul Larocque of Markham, Anne (Martin) Wills of Toronto, Robert Larocque (Monique Plamondon) of Longmont, Colorado, Mary (late Jack Bereziuk) of Calgary, Jane (late Domenic Princi) of Ottawa, and Helen (Todd) Breedon of Ottawa. Proud Grandma to Michelle, Andrew, Philippe, Peter, Laura, Mark, Kate, and Alex. Great grandmother to Edgar, Caleb, Rosa, Clara, Lily, and Penelope and Aunt to Michael and Fred Morrison.
Fran was the youngest of three daughters of James and Loretto Lambertus of North Bay. She was predeceased by her sisters Elaine and Rita. She was encouraged to follow in her father’s footsteps graduating in Pharmacy from the University of Toronto in 1949 where she met Boom and married in 1951. While raising a family she was very involved in her church and PTA. She organized regular family camping and ski trips. She nurtured many great friends over the years from the Overbrook days up until her most recent time at Maplewood Retirement Residence. Her friends gave her so much support, love and laughter – she truly appreciated them. She had a curiosity to travel and saw many beautiful and exotic places in the world. She loved music and had a passion for Opera. She was an avid bridge player and competitive until the end.
Visitation is on Thursday, August 8, 2 – 4 pm at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road. The funeral mass is on Friday, August 9, 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius the Martyr Church, 518 Donald Street in Ottawa.
A special thanks to all the Maplewood staff and Dr. Farey for making her feel at home as well as their wonderful care over the last 18 months. Fran supported the food bank because no one should be hungry, so donations to the food bank of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
