Kerr, Alvery Orlean “Orky” passed away peacefully on Friday August 2, 2024, at Campbell House Hospice in his 94th year.
He was the much-loved father of Karen (Rick) Redpath, John (Terry), Bob (Teresa) and David Kerr. Forever cherished grandfather of Sydney (Hayden), Rebecca (Ben), Jamie-Lynn (Scott), Garrett, Adam, Brad and Chris and great grandfather of Jack, Tyson and Brent.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen “Bear” as well as his brother Bev (Bernice) Kerr and sister Bonnie (Charlie) Koebel.
Sports were a big part of Orky’s life, he was an all-around athlete, excelling at hockey and baseball. In 1957 he built the Kerr Family Cottage in Oliphant, the place where family traditions and memories were created and where his legacy will live on. Orky will always be remembered by his infectious smile and his regular reciting of poems, limericks and stories.
A private graveside service will be held at Balsam Grove Cemetery in Oliphant. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House would be appreciated by the family.
