Obituary For Ivan Herbert Adams
April 15, 1943 – July 27, 2024
On July 27, 2024, Ivan Herbert Adams (81), went to be with his Saviour after battling many illnesses. Ivan was born in Edmonton and raised in Onoway among three sisters and three brothers. Ivan was the proud father of two sons and six grandchildren.
Ivan ran Sangudo Custom Meat Packers for 27 years and was well known in his community for his business, his love for cooking and hosting family and friends, being part of the local Elks lodge, War-Amps commercials and movies and supporting many local organizations and charities.
He was a dedicated and celebrated butcher, winning awards for his sausage and hams, and as President of the Meat Processors Association of Alberta. He enjoyed a little of everything in his life; driving race cars, farming, rodeo cowboy, hockey player, youth hockey coach, hunting, watching sports (especially hockey, football, and curling), story telling, and made many memories fishing and camping in his later years. His memory will be kept alive by those who loved him.
Ivan is survived by his son, Jeff and Ashley Adams, son Dean and Brandy Adams, grandchildren Karalee Adams, Lance Adams, Annalise Adams, Landon Adams, Lexington Adams and Aleksander Adams, close friend Laurie Colman, siblings Elsie Reimchen, Ila and Ken Stobbe, Erna Fouts, Gordon and Gertrude Adam, Howard and Janet Adam, Sharon Adam-Sommerfeld, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Olga Adam and brother Wallace Adam.
Celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
