Mitchell, Edward William
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edward William Mitchell, of Carleton Place. Ed passed away Friday, February 17th, 2023 peacefully in his home after a long and valiant battle with cancer at the age of 76. Edward was a proud and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In his professional life he was a skilled electrician and handyman. In addition to the mastery of his many crafts, he enjoyed the company of his macaw, Austin, working on classic cars and attending vintage cars shows. Above all else however, he loved taking long afternoon drives with the love of his life, Jean.
Edward was a kind, strong and loving man. He is survived by his wife Jean, his children Wes (Margaret), Treena (Patrick Jones), his four beloved grandchildren Shane, Sara, Haley and Violet Ann and his brother Hal Wellum (Sandi). Edward, known affectionately as Papoo to his grandchildren, will be missed more than words can say. He will be remembered for his strength, humor, and devotion to his family. There are no service plans at this time.
