Lloyd Kihn Obituary
On July 23, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Lloyd fell asleep in the arms of Jesus at the age of 80 years.
Lloyd was born July 5, 1944 in the district of Friedensfelt, Manitoba to Erma Kihn and William Kihn. He was baptized in St. Paul’s Church in Friedenselt and confirmed in St. Peter’s Church in Winnipeg.
On July 16, 1966, he married Beverly Mitchler, daughter of Emanuel and Katherine Mitchler. They were blessed with a beautiful marriage of 58 years.
During these years, Lloyd worked at various jobs which included Acme Garment, where he met Beverley. He left there to work at Manitoba Bridge for 13 years. He then moved on to work at CN as a crane operator where he retired with over 30 years of service.
Lloyd will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Beverley, sons Lance (Karen) and Cordell (Shaelene). Also to mourn papa’s passing are grandsons Jordan (Taylor), Brady, Zachary and Carter (Perle).
He will also be missed by long time best friend Dave Feakes.
Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 708 McCalman Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Pastor Harold Schoubye officiating. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Waldersee Cemetery, Waldersee, Manitoba.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Kihn, Brady Kihn, Zachary Kihn, Carter Kihn, Lawrence Mitchler and David Mitchler.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Dale Mitchler.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
