Obituary of Doug Jacques
A resident of Chatham, Doug Jacques passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the age of 76.
He was the son of the late John (Jack) & Marion (nee Hie) Jacques.
Doug will forever be remembered by his wife of 54 beautiful years, Leslie (nee Jones).
Proud father of Brenda Heraldo (Joe), Denise Sperduti (Fabio) & Nancy McClymont (Jason).
Devoted grandfather of Cameron (Megan), Jaiden (Valeria), Madison, Ashlynn, Liam, Matteo, Sophia, Landon & Jaxon.
He will be dearly missed by his fur baby, Charlie.
Doug retired as proud owner of Custom Window after 25 years. Prior to, working in Sales for Union Gas for 26 years. He was a passionate motorcyclist, traveling alongside Leslie through Mantoulin Island, the East Coast, Prince Edward Island, & the Cabot Trail. On a trip circling Nova Scotia, Doug & Leslie reminisced often on rounding the southern peninsula to whale watch. Doug loved the outdoors, spending time boating, sailing and camping. Most recently, Doug & Leslie enjoyed spending time at their trailer on the Maitland River at Shelter Valley Campground. He felt at peace in the outdoors, under the stars next to the campfire with his guitar and enjoying a glass of Deanston. Most of all, family was always number one for Doug. His selfless and caring personality will forever be missed by them all.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of the London Health Sciences Centre and the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their continuous compassion and care for Doug.
Family to receive friends on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
In memory of Doug, donations may be made to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
