Obituary of Helen Cecelia Coulter
In the early morning hours of July 17th, 2024 a woman who’s only objective on this planet was to love with her whole heart took her last breath while surrounded by a few of her loved ones and finally joining her husband, George Howard Leroy Coulter, who has been patiently waiting since 2002. If you were lucky enough to cross her path or be within ear shot you would have witnessed her infectious laugh, contagious smile and ability to always see the positives in everything around her.
Helen Cecelia Coulter, nee: Tallack born January 15, 1951 in St. Thomas, Ontario to Jean (nee: Axford) Tallack (2009) and beloved wife of late Henry Thomas “Tom” Tallack (1991). Helen was very proud of being from St Thomas and often spoke of the original homestead and Union, Ontario and also her lineage to the former Premier Hepburn. Helen was a sister to Mary Walker (John, 2017); H. T. “Tim” Tallack (Jessie); and Kenneth Bruce (Audetti). She was an aunt to: Eric, Ian and Christopher; Celine and Tom; (Sharon Berman) Robert and Alicia.
Helen loved being a mom and loved her three children: Heather (Lindsay), Alan and Graham (Tanya). She loved being a nana to: Ryan, Dominic and Nyomi; Bryanna and Makayla; Alyssa, Chasity, Jewell and Hayden. She was a great grandmother to: Serenity and Paizleigh; Miles; Selena; Alex and Phoebe; Anastazja.
Although location was always a factor, love never was because she loved fiercely and always wanted those in her life to know it and in doing so she never missed a birthday, holiday or anytime she could send a card or present to her step-sons Bradly (2013) (Leslie) and Glen (Debbie) or their children, her grandchildren: Gavin and Bryce; Ashley and Wade.
There were also people in Helen’s lives that were like family over the years, some who came and left and some who were always by her side. These very special relationships, with the people that she called family, like her sister-in-law, Sharon Berman who was her best friend for over 50 years. They had special nicknames for one another, inside jokes and loved one another deeply. The other was Hope Clark (Tim), who became like a daughter to her and was referred to as such for over 30 years. Her children called her grandma Helen and she was there for her son’s birth. In honour of Helen and George she named her son, Coulter. Sharon and Hope had absolute and unconditional love for Helen, as she did for them.
Throughout the years anyone that came into contact with Helen mentioned how she made an impression on their lives – most recently being the staff at Earl’s Court. All of the PSW’s and nursing staff just loved her. I believe at one point they mentioned, to me, that she participated in 64 different programs a month that they had – from outings to Walmart to Arts and Crafts in the main room even to falling asleep playing bingo, anything to be a part of all of the goings on.
The staff loved her so much and she loved them. They would sneak her extra desserts and treats, not that should or would surprise anyone that knows her. At this time we would like to thank the staff at Earl’s Court Village for being so kind to our mom, nana and grandma Helen over the past few years. We know that she really loved all of you.
As per Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas Street, London, on Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior (10 – 11 a.m.). Helen’s memorial service will be livestreamed. Please CLICK HERE to register and follow the necessary instructions.
Helen had two great loves in her life, one was dogs and the other was children and therefore in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society and/or the Stevenson Children’s Camp and can be made through Logan Funeral Home (519) 433-6181 or online at www.loganfh.ca
