Bruce Dobratz Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bruce Dobratz. Peacefully, passed away surrounded by the love of his family at the Mattawa General Hospital on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 66 years. Bruce was the beloved husband of Mona (nee Bellaire) Dobratz and the loving father Lonny Dobratz and Darrell Dobratz (Miranda). He was the Cherished and proud Papa Bruce to Sophia. He is predeceased by his parents Ernest Dobratz and Beatrice (nee Barrer) Dobratz, brothers Elmer, Bernie, Daryl, Terry, sisters Thelma and Wendy.
Survived by his siblings Richard, Brenda, Clayton, Doug, and Darlene (Robert).
Bruce will be missed by his extended family, Mother-in-law Bernadette, brother-in-law to Michael, Lorraine (Jamie), Pauline and Richard. Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bruce met the love of his life Mona on May 7, 1977. Bruce was a devoted husband, father and Papa who loved spending time with his family. Together they raised two wonderful children Lonny and Darrell.
Bruce spent most of his working life at Columbia Forest Products as a forklift driver and retired in 2022.
Bruce always kept busy, whether in the yard or his shed. Spoiling Mona daily by doing the household chores and cooking supper. Running the tack shop during the day, running parcels to the post office at night.
Bruce led a simple life and preferred to stay home, but always enjoyed great conversations to whoever would listen.
As per Bruce’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will occur at a later date. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
